New
Zealand education is based on the world's most recognised education
system - British. New Zealand offers high quality and world class
education with a perfect balance in theoretical and practical
modules focused on work-ready training.
The
qualifications of New Zealand are issued and administered by New
Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). It's main function
is to assess the quality of programs, qualifications, degrees,
the education providers of New Zealand and also to assess international
qualifications. NZQA rates the quality of an institute by an audit
cycle. The higher the audit cycle, the higher is the quality of
the education provider. To know more about NZQA visit www.nzqa.govt.nz
The
Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students
issued by the New Zealand Government ensures that an international
student is taken good care of by the education providers. With
all these favorable factors in place New Zealand has evolved with
concept of 'Fresh Thinking'!
The education providers of New Zealand are categorized under three
main categories:

Universities:
Are characterised by a wide diversity of teaching and research,
especially at a higher level.
Private
Training Establishments (PTEs):
Are private organisations providing education/training focused
on delivering job oriented industry training.
Institutes
of Technology (ITPs): Deliver
technical, vocational and professional education. They also
promote research, particularly applied and technological research
that aids development.
NOTE:
Irrespective
of the type of institute, the qualifications are finally issued
by NZQA, which will stand as the documentary evidence of the completion
of study. In most cases students will be recieve a certificate
from their institution and also a certificate from NZQA, which
will be recognised and accepted globally.
