Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International
Students issued by the New Zealand Government ensures
that an international student is taken good care of by the
education providers. With all these favorable factors in

The education providers of New Zealand are categorized under
three main categories:

Universities: Are characterised by a wide diversity
of teaching and research, especially at a higher level.
Private Training Establishments (PTEs):
Are private organisations providing education/training focused
on delivering job oriented industry training.
Institutes of Technology (ITPs): Deliver
technical, vocational and professional education. They
also promote research, particularly applied and technological
research that aids development.
NOTE:
Irrespective
of the type of institute, the qualifications are finally
issued by NZQA, which will stand as the documentary evidence
of the completion of study. In most cases students will
be recieve a certificate from their institution and also
a certificate from NZQA, which will be recognised and accepted
globally.
